CARNIFEX
Graveside Confessions
Release Date: September 3, 2021
Carnifex is an American deathcore band from San Diego County, California. In my role as a Digital Marketing Manager for Carnifex, I had the pleasure of promoting their album, Graveside Confessions. Carnifex was celebrating the 15-year anniversary of their debut album, Dead in My Arms. The band revisited their first album to re-record 3 songs, but now with huge advancements in production technology. A return to their roots, these songs act as the completion of a circle; a return to where things first began.
I orchestrated social media graphics and posts for each waterfall single leading up to the album release, in addition to uploading each accompanying music video or visualizer on either Carnifex’s official YouTube channel or Nuclear Blast’s official YouTube Channel.
CARNIFEX X BLXCKMASS CLOTHING
Taking the marketing efforts a step further, I reached out to professional wrestler, Malakai Black, to create a limited edition t-shirt to be released alongside the album, through his clothing company, Blxckmass Clothing. Blxckmass Clothing was responsible for selling and designing the t-shirt limiting it to 100. My job was to actively promote the t-shirt collaboration by organizing a press release, uploading the official teaser on the band’s YouTube channel creating a newsletter, and scheduling posts on socials. The t-shirt sold out in one day! The success of the limited edition Carnifex collaboration led to more collaborations with other Nuclear Blast artists and an ongoing partnership with Blxckmass Clothing.

SOCIAL POSTS
I was responsible for leading the social media marketing efforts for the Graveside Confessions album campaign. I curated and generated engaging content, including teasers, music video snippets, and visually appealing graphics, to build excitement among the audience. Managing Carnifex’s profiles across various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, was crucial, as I aimed to foster an active and engaged community.
One of my primary responsibilities was creating custom verbiage for each post that went out on the band’s social profiles. I carefully crafted the language and tone to match the band’s unique voice and brand identity, ensuring that every post resonated with their audience and maintained authenticity. I was also responsible for the YouTube uploads for all official music videos, lyric videos, and visualizers.
